Good evening BSR families!

A huge congratulations to the students on their performance on Saturday! It was a crazy parking situation, but with the parent volunteer help, we were able to get them set up to give their strongest performance of the year. 2 more guaranteed performances left!

This week is our own Blue Star Classic Field Tournament hosted at North High School! Thank you to all of those that have volunteered, donated, and are looking forward to lending a helping hand on Wednesday. If you are still interested in helping out, please follow this link to the sign-up or this link to donate concessions items! This is one of the largest fundraisers of the year, and we can raise over $10,000 if we run a successful event. It's also a ton of fun to welcome bands onto our campus after traveling to other ones all year!

Our band is competing in a tougher division this year, and only 12 bands make it into Championships. This week's shows and performances will determine whether or not we get a bonus week of band! Either way, the students truly surpassed expectations with all of the new students we had this year, and we couldn't be more proud. If this is the last week, let's make it an incredible one!

Here is what is happening this week:

Monday, November 10:

8:00am-8:30am: Band Council Meeting -- Meeting for students elected to the Band Council for 2025-2026, as well as additional volunteers.

3:30pm-3:45pm: BSR Leadership Meeting

Tuesday, November 11:

NO SCHOOL, but rehearsal will still be happening in a normal time and is mandatory for performance.

5:30pm-9:00pm: BSR Rehearsal -- Class time for 7th period Marching Band.

Wednesday, November 12:

Blue Star Classic Field Tournament at John W. North HS -- Students will be volunteering to help the show run, as well as performing in the middle. Tickets are FREE for BSR families, your student just has to come grab them from me! Students will also be fed at this event when they get a break from working.

Thursday, November 13:

12:45pm-1:33pm: United Sound Rehearsal -- This is the time during the week for our United Sound program, where select special education students work with the band students.

5:30pm-9:00pm: BSR Rehearsal -- Class time for 7th period Marching Band. Since we cannot guarantee another week of marching band, we will be doing some senior traditions this evening for our last practice of the year. Please feel free to come by and watch!

Friday, November 14:

3:30pm-4:30pm: BSR Truck Loading -- Mandatory for all students. Students will be dismissed when their equipment is loaded onto the semi-trailer.

5:30pm-9:00pm: BSR Rehearsal -- Since weather is up in the air for Thursday and it may rain, we are adding this to the calendar as a backup option. If Thursday continues as normal, we will not rehearse Friday.

¡Buenas noches, familias de BSR!

¡Muchas felicidades a los estudiantes por su presentación del sábado! El estacionamiento fue un caos, pero gracias a la ayuda de los padres voluntarios, pudimos preparar todo para que dieran su mejor presentación del año. ¡Aún quedan dos presentaciones garantizadas!

Esta semana se celebra nuestro Torneo Clásico de Campo Blue Star en la Preparatoria North. Gracias a todos los que se han ofrecido como voluntarios, han donado y están listos para ayudarnos el miercoles. Si aún desean colaborar, pueden registrarse aquí o donar artículos para la cafetería aquí. Esta es una de las recaudaciones de fondos más importantes del año, y podemos recaudar más de $10,000 si el evento es un éxito. ¡También es muy divertido recibir a las bandas en nuestro campus después de viajar a otros durante todo el año!

Nuestra banda compite en una división más difícil este año, y solo 12 bandas clasifican para el Campeonato. ¡Los conciertos y presentaciones de esta semana determinarán si obtenemos una semana extra de música para la banda! De cualquier manera, los estudiantes superaron con creces las expectativas con todos los nuevos alumnos que tuvimos este año, y no podríamos estar más orgullosos. Si esta es la última semana, ¡hagámosla inolvidable!

Lunes, 10 de noviembre:

8:00am-8:30am: Reunión del Consejo de la Banda -- Reunión para los estudiantes elegidos para el Consejo de la Banda del ciclo 2025-2026, así como para otros voluntarios. 

3:30pm-3:45pm: Reunión de Liderazgo de la Banda de Marcha.

Martes, 11 de noviembre: 

NO HAY CLASES, pero el ensayo se llevará a cabo en horario normal y es obligatorio para la presentación. 

5:30pm-9:00pm: Ensayo de la Banda de Marcha -- Hora de clase para la Banda de Marcha del séptimo período.

Miércoles, 12 de noviembre: 

Torneo Clásico Blue Star en la Preparatoria John W. North -- Los estudiantes participarán como voluntarios para ayudar en la organización del evento y también se presentarán en la parte central. Las entradas son GRATIS para las familias de BSR; ¡su hijo/a solo tiene que venir a recogerlas conmigo! También se les ofrecerá comida a los estudiantes durante este evento, cuando tengan un descanso de sus tareas.

Jueves, 13 de noviembre: 

12:45pm-1:33pm: Ensayo de United Sound -- Este es el momento de la semana para nuestro programa United Sound, donde algunos estudiantes de educación especial trabajan con los estudiantes de la banda. 

5:30pm-9:00pm: Ensayo de BSR -- Hora de clase para la banda de marcha del séptimo período. Como no podemos garantizar otra semana de ensayo de la banda, esta noche realizaremos algunas tradiciones de último año en nuestro último ensayo del año. ¡Están invitados a venir a vernos!

Viernes, 14 de noviembre: 

3:30pm-4:30pm: Carga del camión de la banda (obligatoria para todos los estudiantes) -- Los estudiantes podrán retirarse cuando su equipo esté cargado en el semirremolque.

5:30pm-9:00pm: Ensayo de la banda -- como el tiempo es incierto para el jueves y podría llover), lo añadimos al calendario como alternativa. Si el jueves transcurre sin lluvia, no habrá ensayo el viernes. 

Sábado, 15 de noviembre: 

BSR en Ramona FT (Preparatoria Ramona en Riverside)
