Scrip Program Information

Using Scrip to Support Music & Dance

This program is a terrific way to support the Blue Star Regiment!

You get items you want (no candles, wrapping paper, etc.)

Use the certificates for items you normally buy!

Feel free to order as much of anything from the list as you would like, even if they are not on the order form. However, these "special" orders are processed once a month and must be paid for in advance.

If you place your order by the FIRST SATURDAY of the month, it will normally be available the following Saturday at the Recycle Drive.

On hand inventory is focused on high turnover scrip (e.g. Stater Bros, Shell, etc) as opposed to keeping a large variety on hand. With a little planning and ordering ahead, you will actually end up with more choices.

Take a look at the list and you'll be surprised at what's available! If everyone buys at least $200 of scrip per month, we can really raise large amounts of money for the Blue Star Regiment - and it doesn't cost you or the BSR anything.

What is Scrip?

Scrip is similar to gift certificates. You use Scrip just like money.

What does Scrip do for me?

You can use it for all kinds of things like groceries, holiday gifts, gas for your car, plane tickets, dining out and many other things. How do I use Scrip? We encourage members to use at least $200 every month. Keep in mind that you are not buying Scrip; you are "trading" money for certificate money for your daily purchases.

My child is new to the program.  How does Scrip benefit the program?

Companies make their certificates available to the provider company, which then sells it to us for slightly less than the face value of the certificate. When we trade it to you, we trade it at its face value. The BSRIMA then makes a profit of 1% to 4% depending on the company. Some companies are more generous than others and occasionally the profit margin is as high as 18% (this is very rare though!)

Doesn't this cost me money?

No. You trade your money for the certificates and use it the same way you would use money. There is nothing to buy except the goods and services you would normally buy... like your monthly groceries.
